| [Notas de FZ en el casete “El Mundo de la Guitarra según Frank Zappa” - 1987] “Legañas” fue uno de los álbumes controvertidos objeto de la innoble acción legal Warner Brothers / Hermanos Cohen. Las copias que en conclusión se distribuyeron al comercio minorista estaban caracterizadas por una portada poco atractiva, una masterización mala y una campaña publicitaria inexistente. Como resultado, pocos fans escucharon esta pieza.
| [Notes by FZ on “The Guitar World according to Frank Zappa” - 1987] “Sleep Dirt” was one of several disputed releases involved in the infamous Warner Brothers / Cohen Brothers law suit. The retail copies that eventually reached the marketplace were distinguished by unattractive covers, miserable disc mastering and non-existent promotion. Consequently, few fans have heard this cut. |
| Casi nunca toco la guitarra acústica, y esta actuación (el único extracto completo de esa sesión) es un raro ejemplo de mi actuación con este instrumento. Esta pieza se compuso en una habitación de hotel en Estocolmo, Suecia, en noviembre de 1971, después de tomar prestada una guitarra Martin (en aquel momento, de Mark Volman) y haberla experimentado en un día libre durante la gira. Luego, intercambié con Mark una guitarra Fender Telecaster con esa Martin. Ahora está sin usar en un rincón oscuro de mi estudio.
| I seldom play acoustic guitar, and this performance (the only complete take from the session) is a rare example of a performance in this setting. The tune itself was composed in a hotel room in Stockholm, Sweden, sometime in November 1971, as a result of borrowing the Martin guitar (owned then by Mark Volman) and experimenting on a day off during the tour. I eventually traded Mark a Telecaster for the Martin. It now sits unused in a dark corner of the studio. |
